Post 10 >> Some Reflections...

This semester has been hard. Many times I was almost leaving the career. Give a lot, don't sleep, and waste all the money is demotivating.
The only thing that made my happy was know people in a game, we made a guild and we used to talk every night doing raids in the game, now I can´t play but we still be friends and now I now a lot of mexican expressions.
The only good things in the university that have happened is  I learned some things.
I hate work days for somethig and then the mark is a bad mark. This year a lot of things haven't worked so well, the new studies plan of Design, that started this year, have problems of time, literally my university week was 3 days without sleeping, and that  with the passage of weeks made me sick, then I really hated the university and I was thinking change the university. But after, the "Paro" started and that months without classes calmed me down.
I don't know if I have achievements, my achievement for now is still alive in the career and don't reprobate nothing.
A summary is I made new friends: Argentinian, mexican, peruvian and chileans, but university it discourages me, I really  hope the next semester could be better for me.

Hi! Now is time to talk about music! My favourite genre of music is metal! I used to listen in the start:  Metal Industrial and Nu Metal, but now without a doubt, my favourite type of Metal is Power Metal.

I started with metal when I was in 8 grade, I always was searching for an aggressive type of music but with melody. When I was a child, I didn't have references of music because my classmates only used to listen "trash music" and for a moment I thought that I really hated music, but that was because my environment only listen the typical bands for teenagers. After I discovered the beautiful world of metal.

Right now, my favourite band is an Italian Power metal band: Rhapsody and Luca Turilli's Rhapsody, but before my two favourites bands was a Nu metal band from USA: Slipknot, and a Neue Deutsche Härte band called: Oomph!, Oomph! is a german metal band. So my favourites bands sing in different languages: German, Italian and English.

Obviously, I listen a lot of bands of Power Metal like Sonata Arctica, Stratovarius, Avantasia, Symphony x, Elvenking and others. 

This year Rhapsody made a show in Teatro Caupolican in Chile, and it was the best. I was so happy to have the opportunity to see they in the show. On 2015 Slipknot made a show in Movistar Arena and that was my first time in a metal concert. The most heavy place to stay in a Metal concert is near the stage, the fans make the moshing that is a style of dance in wich participants push or slam into each other, typically performed in "aggressive" live music. 

An extra fact is that I used to play in a metal band that was a Slipknot tribute, we used masks and we played in clubes. 

But I played too in other groups of people common music like blues, jazz, soul, pop, cueca etc. 

Post 8 >> A Subject you've enjoyed studying this semester

In this semester I have a subject called "Procesos y Prototipos".  In every class we work in diferents processes that any industrial designer need to know, we started with representation, for example disguise a material to other material. We build a cube with wood, but we used painting to transform it visually in "stone". Then we build replicas in a scale, when the teacher asses replicas was so strict and all my classmates had a "red mark", I was the best mark with a 4,5, working in this was so hard because you needed to take care of all, the replica needed to be the same color and measurements. 
Then I remember we worked in acrylic, I spent 24 hours non-stop working in a pyramid of acrylic and I suffered a lot, but it was worth it because my mark was  a 7.0
We learned how to build a book, I think that was so cool because now I can make books and build books to gift.
Now we was working in molds of gesso, that is a common process to reproduce en masse a product. But me and my classmates was having problems because the days was so humid and that difficult to work in the gesso. 
Today we started drawing planes of objects and then we going to build the objets in different materials.

The main contents in "Procesos y Prototipos" I have seen are:
Material Expression
Mechanics of Materials
Transformation Codes
Formal Capabilities of materials

I like the subject because I am learning a lot of materials and a lot of  useful processes and techniques to build objects.

Post 7 An Expert on your Field

 Philippe Stack is a French designer. Probably the most recognized designer today, his designs are eccentric.
He has won many awards and his last name is already a registered trademark. 
The president of French orders him to decorate his private rooms of the Eliseo Palace. He worked as a decorator for restaurants, offices and private homes in Tokyo. In the 90'he designed the most diverse objects like three legged seats, domestic utensils such as the famous Juicy Salif Juicer, highly technological elements like the new Microsoft Arch Mouse and Olympic torch for the winter games in 1992. Design also motorcycles for BMW and Aprilia, wich he considered the best example of minimalism and functionality.

I like him because Starck proposes designs committed to society and contemporary, designs in wich ideas an feelings are communicated.
He is a reference for all designers in the world. A common gift you can make to a designer friend is the famous SALIF JUICER.
The Salif Juicer is an artefact with a strange form, and the important is not the function: The important is the design concept behind. Is an object that creates spaces to talk about design, and that is what Starck was searching.

Videogames: World Of Warcraft

Hi guys, today I will tell you about my favourite videogame in the world.
The name is: World Of Warcraft, and is a Massively Multiplayer Online role playing game.
Why I like it?
I love it because you can do anything inside. It is a game that never ends, Is like the real life.
I love the game and the lore game. When you start to play, You need to choose your allies.
Horde or Alliance. And it depends of that, what character you will create.
In the side of Horde you can be: Orc, troll, Blood elve, Goblin, Undead, Tauren and Pandaren.
In the side of Alliance you can be: Human, Night elve, gnome, dwarf, draenei, worgen and Pandaren. The you can choose you class: Mage, Chaman, Rogue, Hunter, Warlock, Warrior, Paladin, Demon Hunter, Death Knight, Monk, Priest or Druid.
Alliance and Horde fight ever because there are problems of territory and ideals. So the hate is real between Horde and Alliance players.
I started to play World of Warcraft in the account of my sister when I was like 10 years, then when I growed up I created my own account.
I use to pplay with the friends that I maked inside the game, I love they and we use the voice chat to speak.
Obviusly me and my friends are  Alliance players, I am a Death Knight Night elve and I'm the only girl in my group of friends and the Tank of my guild. We have in the week special days to plan activities, for example friday at 9:00 PM o clock  is the day of Ranked Battlegrounds. We enjoy a lot killing Horde players.

Other Game that I think I would like to play is Overwatch, a friend gave me Overwatch, but all my free time is for World Of Warcraft.

Post 5: A Freaky Photograph

My little sister Sofía took it.
It shows a moment of the day when I celebrated my eighteen birthday. It shows my friends after "The Satanic Ritual of the Piñata".
 I like it because I have the best memories of this day and the photograph help me to remember. 
It was the most freaky day of my live. I invited my few freeky friends, and I said "All of you need to bring a mask because We are going to realize The Piñata Ritual." And they didnt know What was that, and honestly me neither... So for the especial day I bought a Piñata, and a lot of candies.
Everybody puts on their masks and we put three candles on the Piñata and we started the Satanic ritual of the Piñata.  We pray for the Piñata with a Pokemon background music and then one of my friends buried aggressively a Knife in the Piñata and we fought for the candies.
In the end Piñata died and we were happy eating candies.

Tv shows and Series

Honestly, I am not interested in TV shows and series. I think to be sitting watching TV is bored. I can't put up with enslaved people about series, talking all day long about the same serie make me feel sick. I prefer an interactive hobby. 

I don´t have a favorite serie, but there are good cartoons that I remember when I used to watch TV.

Some of my favorites were Pokemon, Adventure Time, The Teen Titans, The Grim Adventires of Billy & Mandy, SpongeBob, American Dragon: Jake Long.

 

In Highschool a friend of mine recommended me a serie called Heroes, and she insisted on a lot. So, I watched it and I liked it very much.

I don't know exactly why I liked these cartoons, I mean they are amusing and different fantasy stories. I prefer cartoons because every chapter is an independient story, and I don't need follow strictly the saga.

I enjoy stories related wth fantasy, terror, or about something unknown.

At present, I am not interested on watchng a special serie and I don't use Netflix.

My favourite piece of technology

Hey! Today I will talk about my favorite piece of technology. It was very easy decide it, because obviously is the laptop/computer and game cons0les. 

When I was 3 years old I remember I used to play in PC and I think it was my favorite activity. I love computer because you can do a lot of things, it's like a multiverse of options. You can play, study, chat, research, learn about any topic, and more!. In past blogs I wrote about how I love videogames, and compuiter is the bridge I can use to play.

On March I had my new acquisition: A notebook Gamer. The awesome HP  OMEN that was my last birthday gift from my father.

Playing in HP OMEN I feel like in clouds, it is perfect. I can feel my favorite videogame, World of Warcraft, in a best way, and I can SMASH MY ENEMIES BETTER, Oh!... and help my allies too xD.

When I had free time I played a lot, every day for hours. Now I can't use it to play, so when I need to do something in Photoshop and Illustrator for the university, I use my notebook.

The caracteristics of my notebook are perfect to all type of programs, I can use design programs without problem.
Why do I like my notebook? Because its features and aesthetic qualities are the best for me.

 The best features are Quad-core Inte, Core processors and NVIDIA GeForce GTX graphics. And I love the esthetic, my two favorite colors are red and black and my notebook has these colors. The red backlit keyboard make me crazy. 

Without my notebook all would be more complicated, because before having it I used to use my mother's notebook to work and play. When I worked with it I wasted a lot of time, because the programs get closed and I lost all my work.

And playing in it was a headache, the lag was insupportabe, the computer didn't stand my game and that affected me a lot, because when I was in group with other players, we needed to planificate the raid and dungeons, because mecanincs are so HARD, and the computer didn't help me and my character used to die. It was so uncomfortable because I had to apologize all the time with the group.

Why did you choose this career/study programme?

When I was a child I wanted to be a ballet dancer. Then as many children, my dream was to be veterinary because I loved animals.

Then, when  I was 10 years old, and I had drawing skills, people told me that architecture was a good career for me. But when I grew up, my dreams changed, and I was interested in everything related to  3D animation and Videogames design.

I really wanted to study 3D animation, but in Chile is not available in traditional university and, as that is very important to me, I decided to study Graphic Design first in Universidad of Chile, and  later study something connected with Videogames Design in other university.

Now, I changed my plans, because I am studing Industrial Design right now, and I have a lot of reasons why I changed my plans.

First, I need everybody know that in Chile exists a many institutes and universities imparting Graphic Design like a career, accordingly, there are a lot of people searching job in this area, and they are so poorly paid.

Second, in University of Chile, Graphic Design is not updated, they teach like the way of Old school and teachers are old too. So... you can understand someone who wants to make videogames, doesn't like study typography and that was what I learned in my first year in university. Graphic Design was not my way. Industrial Design is so hard and I am doing my best. In the week, I dont sleep at least 3 days :(

Now, I want to finish Industrial Design, then study in Spain or Deustcheland a Pregrade and afterwards study what I really want.

My favorite company of videogames is Blizzard. I really admire their work, so If one day I can Work in Blizzard, I will be very happy and I could sing "DREAMS COME TRUE".

My auto biography

Hi guys! In this post I will introduce myself.
My full name is Caterina Monserrat Villarroel Zúñiga, but my nickname in games and social network is Diabólica or Diabolicat. I am 19 years old.
I was born in 1998 in Santiago from Chile.
In the past I studied english in "Instituto Norteamericano", and my high school was Colegio Etievan.
Right now I am in my second year studing Industrial Design at Universidad de Chile.

About my family I can tell you I have two sisters and I am the middle one. The oldest is twenty eight years old and the "little" is sixteen  . I live with my parents, sisters and... CATS!. We have eight cats! My favorite cat is Cucha, her full name is Rosita Cuchita. Cucha is eleven or twelve years old, she is "old" but she looks young.

My favorite part: my hobbies!.
The first thing you have to know about me is that I LOVE VIDEOGAMES.
My favorite videogame is World of Warcraft, I am WoW addict. In Holidays I can stay playing 16 hours or more.World of Warcraft is a massively multiplayer online role-playing game. In game I am a Night Elve, and my class is Death Knight.
My second hobbie is music. I used to play bass before but now I dont have time. In my golden age I played in bands. My favorite music genre is Power Metal, Nu metal, Industrial metal, and Neue Deustche Härte. My first metal band was "Vendetta", a Slipknot tribute band. Today I can say that my favorite band is Rhapsody.
Sometimes I draw. My style of art/drawing is all necro and undead criatures, weapons like axes and swords, and a lot of skulls and demons.

In general I feel like an undead because I am skinny and white... And I have low pressure.
Sometimes I am hater and reclusive. But I like make friends with the same hobbys than me.
